Dānishnāma-ye Imām Mahdī bar Pāya-ye Qurʾān, Ḥadith wa Tārīkh (Persian: دانشنامهٔ امام مهدی, lit. the encyclopedia of Imam Mahdi developed upon Qur'an, hadith and history) is a 10-volume book in Persian that discusses topics related to Mahdism based on verifiable Islamic scriptures. It is written by Muhammad Muhammadi Rayshahri and assisted by Sayyid Muhammad Kazim Tabatabayi, Mahmud Karimiyan, Muhammad Rida Sajjadi Talab, Sayyid Mahmud Tabatabayie Nizhad, Sayyid Ruhullah Sayyid Tabayie. It is translated to Arabic by 'Abd al-Hadi Mas'udi and printed by Dar al-Hadith Publications.[1]
Introduction the book
The Encyclopedia of Imam Mahdi is written in both Arabic and Persian. The cited narrations in this work are checked for their accuracy and all of them have been derived from historically reliable sources and exegeses. This work addresses the following fourteen topics: an overview on Mahdism, Imam Mahdi's (a) biography, Imam Mahdi's (a) Occultation, Imam Mahdi's (s) deputies, communications with Imam Mahdi (a), meeting Imam Mahdi (a), Muslim's role during Imam Mahdi's (a) Occultation, Du'a and Istikhara, recommended pilgrimages, signs of the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a), the rise of Imam Mahdi (a), Imam Mahdi's (a) governing traditions, a collection of poems for Imam Mahdi (a) and bibliography of Mahdism.[2]
About the Author
Muḥammad Muḥammadī Rayshahrī or Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahri (Persian: محمد محمدی ریشهری، b. 1946) pursued his education in hawza by taking classes of scholars like Ali Mishkini, Muhammad Fadil Lankarani, Sayyid Muhammad Baqir Tabataba'i Sultani, Muhammad Ali Araki, Husayn Wahid Khurasani, Jawad Tabrizi, Sayyid Muhammad Rida Gulpayigani and Murtada Ha'iri Yazdi. He is the chairman of custodianship of the shrine of 'Abd al-'Azim al-Hasani. A member of the Assembly of Experts (fifth term), membership in Expediency Discernment Council, representative of Wali Faqih for Hajj affairs and amir al-hajj of Iranian Hajj pilgrims, the head of the Dar al-Hadith Academic Cultural Institute, University of Qur'an and Hadith, Qur'an Research Center are among his undertakings. More than scientific and executive affairs, he authored several works in religious subjects, including: Danishnama-ye 'Aqa'id-e Islami, Danishnama-ye Ahadith-e Pizishki, Khayr wa Barkat az Nigah-e Qur'an wa Hadith, Shinakhtnama-ye Namaz bar Paya-ye Qur'an wa Hadith, Ahl-e Bayt dar Qur'an wa Hadith, Hikmatnama-ye Payambar-e A'zam, Sira-ye Payambar-e Khatam, Danishnama-ye Amir al-Mu'minin bar Paya-ye Qur'an, Hadith wa Tarikh, Sayri dar Sira-ye Hukumati-ye Imam 'Ali, Siyasatnama-ye Imam 'Ali, Falsafa-ye Wahy wa Nubuwwat, Hikmatnama-ye Imam Husayn, Farhangnama-ye Marthiya-Sura'i wa 'Azadari-ye Hadrat-e Sayyid al-Shuhada', Hikmatnama-ye Radawi, Danishnama-ye Imam Mahdi, Sharh-e Ziyarat-e Jami'a-ye Kabirah, Wizhigiha-ye Sirat-e Mustaqim dar Qur'an and Gunashinasi-ye Hidayat-e Ilahi dar Qur'an wa Hadith.[3]

Maḥmūd Karīmīyān (Persian: محمود کریمیان, b. 1971 Qom, Iran) pursued his education in hawza by taking classes of scholars like Jawad Tabrizi, Sayyid Mahmud Hashimi Shahrudi, Muhammad Fadil Lankarani, Husayn Wahid Khurasani and Ja'far Subhani. He has a B.A. degree in Islamic Studies and authored scores of books and articles including: Danishnama-ye Amir al-Mu'minin (a), Hikmatnama-ye Imam Husayn (a), Danishnama-ye Imam Husayn (a), Hikmatnama-ye Payambar-e A'zam (s), Danishnama-ye Imam Mahdi (a), I'tibarsanji wa Fiqh al-Hadith-e Akharin Tudi', Ta'amul-e du Maktab-e Hadithi-ye Shi'a wa Sunni.[4]

He has authored scores of books and articles including: Danishnama-ye Amir al-Mu'menin, Hikmatnama-ye Imam Husayn, Siyasatnama-ye Imam Ali, Danishnama-ye Imam Husayn, Shahadatnama-ye Imam Husayn, Danishnama-ye Imam Mahdi, Zindiginama-ye Ahl al-Bayt and Farhangnama-ye Ziyarat-e Atabat.[5]

Hujjat al-Islam ʿAbd al-Hādī Masʿudī (Persian:عبدالهادی مسعودی, b. 1965) pursued his education in hawza by taking classes of scholars such as Jawad Tabrizi, Husayn Wahid Khurasani, Sayyid Musa Shubayri Zanjani. Besides teaching at university, he has written scores of books and articles including: Waz' wa Naqd-e Hadith, Hikmatnama-ye Adab, Hikmatnama-ye Shadi, Uksir al-Mahabba, Rahnama-ye Muhabbat, Mabani wa Rawish-e Andisha-ye 'Ilmi-ye Imam Sadiq, Pazhuhishi Darbara-ye Ru'yat-e Imam dar Ruzigar-e Ghaybat-e Kubra and Sima-ye Ahl-e Bayt. Member of founders' board of Dar al-Hadith, director at Dar al-Hadith Research Center, chairperson of department of hadith at Dar al-Hadith College and teacher at: University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, Usul al-Din College, Tehran University of Religions and Denominations are among his undertakings.[6]
