Āftāb-e Mihr (Persian: آفتاب مهر) (lit. the light of kindness) is a two-volume book titled that yields insight on Mahdism through a Q & A approach. It is compiled by a group of researchers from the Specialized Center for Mahdism and is printed by Mahdi Maw'ud Cultural Foundation.[1]

Book Overview

Aftab-e Mihr provides one hundred answers to questions on Mahdism. Its literary form follows a logical narrative that helps readers better understand it.[2] So far, two volumes of this book have been published:

The topics that are covered in the first volume include: religions and denominations, studying Mahdism, Imam Mahdi (a) in Qur'an, waiting and waiters for the Imam of the Time(a), helpers and deputies, era of occultation, communicating and meeting with Imam Mahdi (a), the End Time, the reappearance; signs and conditions, era of reappearance and Imam Mahdi's (a) governing.[2]

The topics discussed in the second volume include: a few questions or common doubts on Mahdism (i.e. methodological or architectural queries regarding the system of Imam Mahdi's (a) global government), the process of the reappearance, false or misleading claims with respect to declaring oneself as Imam Mahdi's (a) deputy, barriers to his reappearance, Shi'as' communications with the Imam during his occultation, resolving Shi'as' needs by the Imam, waiters' obligations, the Imam's conduct during and after the reappearance, condition of the world during reappearance and after it, the significance of praying for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a), the role of Muslim communities during Occultation and reappearance, fixing dates for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a) and why the infallibles forbid it.[3]
