Nigīn-e Āfarīnish vol. 1 (Persian: نگین آفرینش, lit. the hallmark of creation) is the first volume of a two-volume book, in Persian, that discusses Mahdism-originated knowledge and concepts. It is written by Muhammad Amin Baladastiyan, Muhammad Mahdi Ha'iripour and Mahdi Yusufiyan. It is printed by the Mahdi Maw'ud Cultural Foundation.[1]
About the Book
As acknowledged by its authors, this work not only studies the distinguishing lifestyle of Imam Mahdi (a), his reappearance and qualities of his global government but also provides answers to existing questions and doubts as developed from reliable Shi’a sources. The following topics are addressed in six chapters: Imamate and Imam Mahdi’s (a) personal qualities, Mahdism and Imam Mahdi’s (a) physical characteristics as noted by verses of the Qur’an, occultation and awaiting, signs and conditions for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a), distinctive features of Imam Mahdi’s (a) governing (in areas such as economy, society and morality) and false Mahdism.[2]
About the Authors

• Hujjat al-Islam Muḥammad Amīn Bālādastīyān (Persian: محمد امین بالادستیان, born in Bijar, Iran) beside his hawza classes pursued his studies in Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute and gained his M.A. Research deputy in Mahdawiyyat Research Center and head of department of Qur'an and Hadith in Specialized Center of Mahdism are among his undertakings. Later on, he spent much of his career at hawza and university as dissertation supervisor and advisor. He has written scores of books and articles including: Nigin-e Afarinish vol. 1 and Imam Mahdi Dar Ahadith-e Shi'eh wa Sunni.[3]
• Hujjat al-Islam Muḥammad Mahdī Ḥā'irīpoūr (Persian: محمد مهدی حائریپور, b. 1969) pursued his education in hawza by taking classes of scholars like Ja'far Subhani. Teaching in Global Center of Islamic Sciences, Jami'at al-Zahra', Specialized Center for Mahdism are among his undertakings. Later on, he spent much of his career at hawza and university as dissertation supervisor and advisor. He has written scores of books and articles including: Adab-e Namaz, Ni'matha-ye Ma'nawi, Naqsh-e Intizar Dar Tahaqquq-e Ummat-e Wahida, Jaygah-e Imamat dar Nizam-e Akhlaqi-e Islam, Athar-r Adalat-e Mahdi, Imam Mahdi wa Payamash and cooperation in writing of the book Nigin-e Afarinish.[4]
• Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Mahdī Yūsufīyān (Persian: مهدی یوسفیان) gained his MA in Theology and Islamic Studies from the University of Qom. He is also a graduate of Hawza who has taken classes with great scholars such as Husayn Wahid Khurasani, Mirza Jawad Tabrizi, Sayyid Musa Shubayri Zanjani and Nasir Makarim Shirazi. As a teacher in both Hawza and university, he has been a supervisor and advisor on several thesis projects. He has authored works, including: Sharayit-e Zuhur (conditions of reappearance), Qa'ida-ye Lutf wa Ithbat-e Wujud-e Imam-e Hayy (lit. Lutf principle and proof for the existence of alive Imam), Barrasi-ye Barkhi Adilla-ye Riwa'i-ye Ahmad Basri, Yamani-ye Durughin (lit. a review on some narrations regarding Ahmad Basri, the false Yamani), Ghaybat-e Imam Mahdi (lit. the occultation of Imam Mahdi (a)), Rukhdadha-ye Zuhur (lit. events of the reappearance of Imam Mahdi), Imam Mahdi dar Qur'an, Tulu'-e Khurshid (lit. the sunrise), and co-authored Nigin-e Afarinish (lit. signet of the creation).[5]
