ʿAṣr-e Ẓuhūr (Persian: عصر ظهور) (lit. the era of reappearance) is a translation of an Arabic book titled "'Asr al-Zuhur" by Ali Kurani). It has been translated to Persian by 'Abbas Jalali. It discusses topics regarding Imam Mahdi's (a) post-reappearance era. It is printed by International Publishing Co. affiliated with the Islamic Development Organization.[1]

Book Overview

Regarding his intentions to write the book, the author states that: "the goal is to provide explanations on the era of the reappearance and Imam Mahdi (a)'s righteous rise based on verses of Qur'an and hadith." The author tries to describe events taking place within the range of the period of reappearance, studies scholars' related viewpoints, also, explanations broached by Islam's two major denominations on the issue of reappearance. He seeks to analyze and investigate the available data and respond to the existing questions through appropriate and scholarly answers. The author interprets some of the political and military developments of his time by drawing on similarities with existent narrations like establishing of The Islamic Revolution of Iran. Further, 'Asr-e Zuhur provides analysis on all likely confrontations during the reappearance, coming protests, importance of certain individuals or cities, signs of the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a), his companions and distinguishing qualities of societies built after Imam Mahdi's (a) vision. The book has not only received compliments from readers across Iran but it has also been found very popular among Lebanese and other Arab nationalities.[1]

Hujjat al-Islam ʿAlī Kūrānī (Arabic: علي كوراني, b. 1953 Jabal Amil, Lebanon) pursued his education in hawza by taking classes of scholars like Sayyid Abu l-Qasim al-Kho'i, Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, Muhammad Taqi Irawani, Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim, Sayyid Sa'id al-Hakim and Muhammad Taqi al-Faqih. Establishing Markaz-e Mu'jam-e Fiqhi, al-Mustafa Center li-l-Dirasat al-Diniyyah and contributing to social activities like building mosques and hospitals are among his undertakings. Later as a teacher at seminaries, he wrote scores of books and articles including: 'Asr-e Zuhur, al-Haqq al-Mubin fi Ma'rifah al-Ma'sumin, Jawahir al-Tarikh, Amr bi ma'ruf wa Nahy az Munkar, al-Wahhabiyah wa al-Tawhid, Qur'an-e 'Ali, al-Mumahhidun li al-Mahdi, Hadith Bisharat-e Rasul-e khuda bi dawazdah Imam dar Mutun-e Ahl-e Sunnat, Iraniyan wa naqsh-e Anan dar dawran-e zuhur, Pazhuhishi dar Asbab-e nuzul-e Aya-ye Ikmal-e Din.[2]
