Tārīkh-e Ghaybat-e Kubrā (Persian: تاریخ غیبت کبری, lit. history of the Major Occultation) is a book originally written in Arabic by Sayyid Muhammad al-Sadr which is rendered to Persian by Sayyid Hasan Iftikharzadih. It studies the Major Occultation from standpoint of history and narration. It is printed by Nik Maaref Publications.[1]
Book Overview
The author of this work divides Imam Mahdi's (a) occultation into two periods: the Major Occultation and the Minor Occultation. In his view, these stages of Imam Mahdi's (a) life appear to be unique. He then argues that such uniqueness is otherwise incongruent if subjected to none Shi'a beliefs. In its early chapters, the author explores the life of Imam Mahdi (a) during occultation, his distinguishing qualities, the state of human societies in general and Muslim communities in particular through studying their demographics and narrations. He later examines signs of the reappearance and End-times. In the final chapter, he investigates documents related to two letters of Imam Mahdi (a) to Shaykh al-Mufid.[1]
